Anger Management is the new comedic sitcom starring
Charlie Sheen.
Season 2 starts this April 2013.
What I like about Anger Management
Charlie Goodson is a grownup Charlie Harper
Most people find that to be a sanitized version of Two
and a Half Men but I really like the new, mature Charlie doling out
advice, being a family man and trying to commit to a relationship.
3 very fun supporting female characters
Selma Blair (the best friend with benefits), Shawnee
Smith (the ex-wife), Daniela Bobadilla (the daughter). I really them.
There's something about the way Selma Blair dresses and Shawnee Smith talks
that inexplicably draws me in.
What I don't like about Anger Management
The plot doesn't go anywhere
Charlie's relationship with the very sultry Selma Blair
goes from friends with benefits, to therapist with benefits to therapist
friends with benefits. Every time the plot seems to move forward with the
episode ending on a sweet 'looks like they made it' note, the next episode
resets the romantic timer.
The lack of believability
The comedy tends to go to that exaggerated, farcical
place. Like a gay couple Charlie treats in jail who are Just So Gay,
sipping cocktails, calling each other cutesy names all the while in orange
jumpsuits. Or the premise of a therapist and his entire group hanging out at
the same bar HIMYM style. I'm just not buying it which makes it that much less
funny.
